Make sure you have practiced using the screen cast video I recorded in Part 1 before you take the test. You can use your notes and a square root chart to help you. This last unit of the year is worth 1.0 credits so take your time as you only have one attempt on this test.

Hello! Hope you are well. Glad you are checking in. If you did not do the Week 6 work, go back and do that first then do the Week 7 work. Remember each week's work is worth half a credit.

Everything you need to do is listed step by step in the hyperdoc I've attached. You just need to click on each of the links to (1) watch the video, (2) open and make a copy of the assignment, attach or share it when you are done and (3) take the quiz. When everything has been done, turn it in and I will grade it.

This assignment overlaps with what we learned previously so you should find it in your comfort zone. If not, please email me and I am always happy to help you. My email is srotkosky@pylusd.org

If you didn't watch the screen cast about the To-Do function in Google Classroom, please do. It's only 2 minutes and can help you get organized and see what you need to to and what you've turned in.
Make sure you've done this week's assignment before you answer this question of the week.

For this week's question of the week, I want you to create a more advanced Difference of Squares factoring problem in which a is not 1 and the last term is a perfect square greater than 12^2 = 144.

Here is my problem: My Difference of Squares problem is 81a2 - 256b2. In factored form it is (9a + 16b)(9a - 16b) because 9a^2 is 81a2 and 16b^2 is 256b2.

Now you create your advanced Difference of Squares problem
Make sure you've done this week's assignment before you answer this question of the week.

For this week's question of the week, I want you to create a Perfect Square Trinomial (PST) in which the last term is a perfect square greater than 12^2 = 144. Be sure you accurately find the middle term and explain like my answer below.

Here is my answer: My PST is x^2 + 50x + 625 which factors as (x + 25)^2. I know that 50x is the middle term because (x + 25)(x + 25) = x^2 + 25x + 25x + 625 = x^2 + 50x + 625. A shortcut to find the middle term is to multiply (x)(25)(2) = 50x.

Now you create your PST.
