Read the attached instructions and look at my example Slides presentation.
I have created a Slides presentation that you will use--you just have to put your content on it.
Have fun with this assignment, but make sure the music and the themes are appropriate for school.
Due:
Each day you will respond to quotations. Follow the directions on the attached Google Doc, which you will respond on. Each entry will be worth 3 points, for a total of 15 points for the week.
My intention is for you to do one each day, and I can monitor your progress throughout the week. However, if you would like to do them all on the same day, that's fine, too, but just don't forget to turn it in/submit it when you are finished.
Due Friday at 5:00pm.

Read the instructions on the attached document, then use the attached Slides template to put your project together.
The template I provided is black and white, but I expect you to add color and images. In short, to receive all of your credit it needs to have great content and look great, too.
Along with your journals for the week, this will be your assignment for the week's credit, so make it count!

I will be grading based on content and effort, so make sure you are spending enough time on it, especially since I am giving you four days to work on it, which amounts to 80 minutes of work time.
If you have questions, please email me.

Due:
This week's theme is choices, and it is important that you understand the definitions of knowledge and wisdom since they should be the guiding forces behing your choices. On the attached Google Drawings, you will complete all of the quadrants of the square for the terms "knowledge" and "wisdom". You will add a definition that makes sense to you, facts and/or characteristics, examples, and non-examples. I created text boxes in each quadrant, but you may need to create new ones to type in your information.
Due:
Watch Eldra Jackson's TED Talk about the lessons he learned about masculinity. He has much wisdom to share for men and women. He made some negative choices, but finally realized how to make better ones.
After watching the TED Talk you will complete the attached form.
How I Unlearned Dangerous Lessons About Masculinity (Eldra Jackson | TEDWomen 2018)

Right now we are all dealing with Covid-19 and its numerous effects--effects on relationships, work, mental health, peace, supply and demand, school, and politics to name a few. In the beginning of the quarantine, the feeling was that we were "all in this together"; however, more recently people have become divided about the causes, effects, severity, media, political decisions, etc. How do you feel we (California or the U.S.) should be moving forward? Do you think we should continue to shelter in place, some businesses should open, all should open . . . ?
You will craft a statement where you express your opinion about what you think should be done to move forward. After, you will attach a news article that supports your statement. You do not have to summarize the article at this point, but I want you to attach it so I can see/read it.
This is Part 1 of the assignment. There will be a Part 2, but that is for another day!

Today marks the beginning of a new grading period, and we have 5 more weeks until we do our final grades and credits.
It is important for you to map out your goals for your classes so you can hold yourself accountable, which is especially important during this time of distance learning.
Be specific when you set your goal--don't just say "C or better" for the grade. Write down the amount of credit you will commit to earn in MY class from now until the last day to submit work, June 5.
Really reflect on what your strengths and areas of improvement are before you start typing because this assignment is for you to gather information for yourself to use.
Aeries will hopefully be updated later this week or early next week.

Due:
Even if you are not aware of it, you are likely under much stress right now. I wanted to share this presentation about stress and self care to have you think about the activities you engage in each day, and to analyze whether they are really helping you be refreshed and revitalized, or if they are draining your energy.
This is a Slides presentation with speaker notes that I added on the bottom. Please read the speaker notes so you know what I want you to do with the slide/information on the slide.
Embedded in one of the slides is a Timeline activity that you must do in order to have this assignment completed. I'm not sure whether or not it will automatically attach or not, so check the link before you turn it in and to be safe you should attach a copy here, too.
I do believe that to be our best selves we need to be mindful and listen to the cues that our bodies give us. Please treat yourselves with love and care and listen to what you need! Hopefully this will help you pause and do just that!
