El Camino Intake Meetings
El Camino is designed for students who are credit deficient and provides them with opportunities to both repair credits from failing grades and earn credits at an accelerated rate. El Camino serves students 16 years and older. A variety of courses that meet the high school graduation requirement are available for students. All courses are open to all interested students regardless of disability, language ability, fluency, etc.
Intake Process
- Comprehensive HS counselor communicates with student and parent/guardian that referral to El Camino is being submitted
- Intake Referral form submitted by comprehensive HS counselor
- ECRHS Intake Referral 2024-2025
- Parent/guardian and student must be notified of referral to ECRHS
- ECRHS reviews referral and coordinates intake meeting with incoming student and parent/ guardian
- Intake meetings are held weeks 2 & 3 of each 3 week marking period
- Intake meeting is to determine if El Camino is the right level of support for the student
- Students are to remain enrolled at their comprehensive HS until they are enrolled at El Camino
- ECRHS will communicate with comprehensive high schools regarding which students will be enrolling with El Camino
- Comprehensive HS disenrolls student upon notification so that El Camino may enroll the student
Intake Meetings
- Intake meetings are held with Counselor/Dean of Students
- Credits, attendance and course selection are all discussed during intake process
- Electives are shared with student and parent/guardian
- Schedule is created for student once they are officially enrolled at El Camino
